“The Art and Science of Innovation: Transdisciplinary Work, Learning and Transgression” is a book written by Lorraine White-Hancock and published by Springer in 2023. It deals with how creativity is created at work and interdisciplinary learning, focusing on the interface between art, science, and technology. It looks at creativity in a new way by drawing on ideas of transgression, primarily from a feminist perspective. Three of the five case studies examined involved Synapse’s artist-in-residence projects where artists worked collaboratively with scientists in their scientific institutions in Australia as a means encourage innovation. The remaining two cases examine innovation and transgression in the collaborative work of the famous Australian artist Patricia Piccinini and at the German Bauhaus school. This book appeals to artists and scientists, workplace managers, policymakers, researchers, and educators interested in STEM or STEAM education.
Currently this book is sold at a cost of about 96 EUR (~2.5 million VND) for a hard copy.
