HOW TO FIX WHEN ANALYZING AMOS, THE GFI INDEX IN THE MODEL DOES NOT APPEAR.
When the GFI (Goodness of Fit Index) does not appear in the model, there can be a number of reasons and solutions as follows:
• Check the model: Make sure you have defined the right model in AMOS and performed the correct model analysis. The GFI index is calculated to evaluate the degree of fit of the data model with the theoretical model. If you have chosen the wrong model or performed the wrong analysis, AMOS may not be able to calculate the GFI.
• Check data: Make sure your data has been entered correctly and is sufficient for AMOS to calculate the GFI index. Check that all variables and relationships in the model are defined and connected correctly.
• Check output settings: Review the output settings of the AMOS analyzer. Make sure you have selected to display the GFI index in the results report. AMOS often provides options to display the appropriate metrics, so make sure you have GFI display selected.
• Check the AMOS version: Sometimes the GFI index not appearing could be because the AMOS version you are using does not calculate or support this index. In this case, check the AMOS version and see if there are any updates or new settings.
If after checking the above factors, the GFI index still does not appear in the AMOS analysis, consider finding other alternative methods to evaluate the model fit, such as the CFI (Comparative index). Fit Index) or RMSEA (Root Mean Square Error of Approximation).
♥ One of the common causes is that you accidentally ticked the wrong estimate of the mean value and intercept coefficient (Step to check output settings). We just need to uncheck this and it’s Ok.
