STATISTICAL PROCESSING WITH SPSS SOFTWARE

SPSS (abbreviation for Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) is a computer program serving statistical work, supporting the processing and analysis of primary data – information collected directly from research subjects. research, often widely used in sociological and econometric survey research.

Advantage
– SPSS has a data editor similar to Excel, the editor allows entering data and describing their properties, so SPSS is quite easy to use.

– The greatest strength of SPSS is the field of variance analysis (SPSS allows performing many types of separate impact tests) and multidimensional analysis (for example, multidimensional analysis of variance, factor analysis, nest group product).

– SPSS has a very simple human-machine interface to create graphs and once a graph has been created, thanks to this interface, users can freely edit the graphs and complete them. The graphs are of very high quality and can be pasted into other documents, such as Word or Powerpoint.

Defect
– The weakest thing about SPSS is its ability to handle complex estimation problems and therefore it is difficult to provide error estimates for these estimates.

– SPSS also does not support data analysis tools according to sample schema.

– SPSS does not have very powerful data management tools

– SPSS processes one data file at a time and is not very powerful when performing analytical tasks that require working with multiple data files at the same time. Data files can have up to 4096 variables and the number of records is limited only to the capacity of the hard disk.

– The syntax language of SPSS is more complex than STATA, but somewhat simpler and less powerful than SAS.
